Exciting news, Fire Friends - Amazon has launched 3 Fire tablets for 2020, with a brand new addition to the family - the HD 8 Plus.
I haven't yet had a chance yet to get my hands on one of these babies - but they have a few enhancements that I'm looking forward to seeing in action!
Here's a look at what's new with each device...

The tenth generation is here and the all-new Fire HD 8 has a few great upgrades compared to its predecessor!
Perhaps the most interesting is a promised increase in speed of 30%. This comes courtesy of a new 2.0 GHz quad-core processor.
It also has an 'easy charging' USB-C charger, giving a charging time of 5 hours.
For keen gamers - there's a new 'Game Mode', which Amazon describes as a distraction-free, optimized gaming experience that lets you focus on your game without interference from notifications!
Sounds good to me!

You might be forgiven for thinking that 'Plus' means bigger, but not in this case!
Here the 'plus' refers to the upgraded components of the device which are designed to enhance the experience for you, the user.
Whilst the chipset and options for internal storage remain the same, the Fire HD 8 Plus packs in an impressive 3 GB RAM - 50% more than the 8th generation Fire HD 8.
Other features include
Not much has really changed with the Kids Edition, which still comes with a brightly colored kid-proof case, adjustable stand and parental controls.
Included with every purchase is one year of Amazon Kids+, which gives your munchkins access to suitable books, videos, audio books, games and apps.
The Kids version still comes with a 2 year guarantee, which is good to know since kids (mine especially!) are none too careful with their devices!
If you have an older Kindle Fire and want to upgrade to the latest version, you may have the option of trading it in.
See my article about the Amazon Trade-In Program for Fire Tablets to learn more.
Then consider buying a refurbished Fire tablet through the Amazon Renewed program. It comes with the same limited warranties as a brand new device!
Amazon makes it pretty easy to transfer to transfer content from your old Fire tablet when you upgrade. But it's important to realize that not EVERYTHING can be moved to your new device.
